The fact that we need animal protection is in itself shameful but there is no doubt that animals need protection. One might imagine that there is in the meantime enough awareness for animals and their rights but animal abuse still exists in all walks of life. In fact, there is often less interest for animal protection in the modern urban world. Animals are still used for laboratory testing, are slaughtered and abused, attacked, killed and left in miserable conditions. The following links will provide you with a more detailed view and understanding of the problem.

The shameful side of the problem is that all forms of animal abuses can be put down to human actions and interventions. Despite many complaints there is no official animal protection in place and in many cases the results are simply shocking. One of the most appalling development however is the increasing indifference and the cruelty directed against street animals for no obvious reason. Dogs are intentionally hit by cars, beaten with sticks, locked up in barrels and left in the heat, they are poisoned and no cruelty appears to be excluded. But street dogs and cats are not the only targets of neglect or cruelty and even pets are often left without food and water, they cry for help being tied up to a tree, the are locked out for days or finally just dumped somewhere in the city.

You can easily witness the effects of human actions in one of the many animal shelters around the city. However, you better prepare yourself for some very disturbing pictures.

The life of an animal is as valuable and important as any other life on the planet and homeless animals and homeless people deserve our care and compassion since this is our genuine duty as a society and as an individual. We all can start to fight for the rights of the ones who cannot help themselves and need our support and our voice. We can start to take a stand, to make our voice heard and to have an opinion when it comes to animal protection. This includes that we educate children and foster their intrinsic love for animals. But more importantly, we must stand up for the animals whenever we see such cruelty and abuse because the silent majority is as responsible as the ones who conduct such atrocities.

Please help the street animals of Bangkok with your generous donation, your help and care and if you see the chance – please adopt an animal and undo what others did to them.
