Medical care for street dogs and cats is not much different
to the care you will provide to your pet with the exception that
street dogs and cats often have much more severe forms of
illnesses. One of the reasons of course is that animals who live
in the streets usually do not have any prior vaccination and on
the other hand even small infections usually turn into serious
or even chronic problems. Once a dog or cat is infected with a
virus it is all too easy for the virus to infect a whole
population of animals. Therefore vaccination is one of the main
issues.
But there are of course many other issues an animal lover or pet
owner must know when rescuing an animal or taking care of an
adopted dog or cat. The following links can provide you with
more detailed information altough it is always recommended to
consult your veterinarian.
